USANA Launches New Vitamin D Product - Get Ready To Pay Too Much

USANA launches their newest Vitamin D product. While there is nothing special about the ingredients used, it does share one of USANA's popular traits: It is way over priced!

USANA Distributors pay $19.95 for a bottle of 84 tablets, each containing 2000 IU of Vitamin D. Distributors are forced to purchase USANA's overpriced product in order to participate in the business opportunity and be "commission qualified". They are overpriced to fund the pyramid scheme. The majority of USANA's net revenues comes from the distributor's required purchases. The FTC has much to say about that.

The following graph shows a price comparison of USANA's Vitamin D product. A table of the graph is at the bottom.

  2. If you just compare prices in this way, the most important factor is missed:quality. You can get 3 bucks burger for dinner or either a $30 entree in a fine restaurant.

  3. Anonymous,

The only problem with your analogy is the fact that USANA's vitamins are not a higher quality than much of their competition. USANA refuses to allow any organization to come in an independently test their facility for "Pharmaceutical GMP". They claim it is because it isn't required. So USANA will continue to "Claim" they manufacture to Pharmaceutical GMP without ever proving it.

BTW, just because you pay $30 for dinner in a fine restaurant does not guarantee you better quality food than a $3 burger elsewhere. You are mainly paying more because of the expensive building, expensive chefs, too many servers, a crew of busboys, etc... USANA is the same way in that aspect. Around 40% of the cost of product goes toward enriching the top 1% of distributors who are at the top of the pyramid. 99% of the remaining USANA distributors are losing money because of the overpriced product.

  4. USANA Watch Dog,

And, let's just say, "what if" USANA's vitamins are indeed of a higher quality than much of their competition, then do you still think they don't deserve to cost a higher price?

    Health is priceless.

So, you are also claiming something (that they're not of higher quality) which cannot be proved or disproved.
(I don't intend to convince you of anything. I believe a skeptic will remain a skeptic no matter what.)

Every company has its right and freedom to make business lawfully.

"IF" USANA's vitamins were manufactured according to Pharmaceutical GMPs, then they should still be priced at about half of what they are priced at right now. USANA is NOT a vitamin company. They are a MLM company out selling a "Business Opportunity". The products only serve as a cover for the real business, which is to dupe people into believing they can make money by promoting USANA. Distributors are not out selling product, they are out harassing their family, friends, and co-workers begging them to join their downline.

It is close to impossible to make a profit by strictly selling USANA product because there is no profit margin on the product. Distributors are FORCED to purchase expensive inventory in order to be "Commission Qualified". If they don't make this purchase regularly, they are stripped of their "Active" title and are not allowed to collect commission.

If USANA stopped forcing distributors to purchase inventory to be commission eligible, then the company would go bankrupt in less than 6 months. All levels of distributors would quit because nobody would be making a commission since the only ones providing commissions are those who make the forced regular purchases to participate. There are no real customers except a few.

BTW, two independent FDA approved laboratories showed that USANA's vitamins are NOT manufactured according to Pharmaceutical GMPs. In fact, they were nowhere close to having the amount of ingredients as they claim on the label. To be Pharmaceutical GMP, they can not contain more or less than the specified amount on the label. In fact, USANA was very sloppy on their dosage.

If USANA were manufacturing drugs, they would probably have killed their patients. You know Drug companies have to have the EXACT amount described on the label? Too little or too much could kill someone.

  6. It is very interesting that scammer Len Clements has in fact dumped USANA and jumped on the Yoli bandwagon. I guess all those vitamins weren't doing the trick for the old boy anymore. I hope he will join us here to discuss that and the many legal vindications for USANA he fantasized.

I want to thank you for this wonderful site. I am honored that you joined us on Scam.com. Keep up the brilliant work!

  7. It isn't even D3. D3 is the most recent vitamin to have some studies behind it. D is not D when it comes to vitamins.

  8. James 3:2-10 who can tame the tongue? it is the smallest part of the body but very dangerous. Usana products work that is why we take them. Usana Associates are not forced into purchasing extra products. what is the difference between a Ford Escort and Mercedes Benz? if you say the ride is the same then your are so stupid you really can't help it

  9. I would not put any any other product in my body. I trust USANA! See all the top athletes who trust their health to USANA , are they stupid to. They boost about their performance after recognising the difference it has made in their achievements. Performance gets results!

  10. You don't think these athletes gets compensated one way or another? You think it's because of Usana vitamins that they are at the top of their game? Really? Michael Phelps drinks energy drinks, so that must be his secret and we should all drink energy drinks.

As for the person saying Usana reps aren't forced to purchase products, you're right. But then again, no one is forced to get a job either but if you don't, you don't get paid.

You Usana reps do realize that there are people who promote other vitamins who are just as passionate about their products right? They see it working, curing this and that, making them feel better and of course believe their company has the best vitamins out there. You can't all be right.

  11. Why do people fall for that? Health through good eating habits, eat food containing the vitamins you need... way less expensive and scam free

    2. No, eating good foods is the right answer. Only megadose vitamin companies push the conspiracy that the foods today are not sufficient in the amount of vitamins and minerals they contain. Whether a particular fruit or vegetable contains 80% or 120% of what they were measured to contain decades ago is immaterial.

Consuming overpriced vitamins (USANA) IS a waste of money and only serves to enrich members at the top of the pyramid scheme. The same products could be sold for a third of USANA's price if manufactured and distributed from a non-MLM company such as NBTY. I have written about this already and can be read at "USANA Distributors Overcharged For Product In Order To Fund Pyramid Scheme"

    3. Unless you grow your own chicken, pigs and cows without injecting hormones and corn, you really are eating contaminated food.. Just recently chicken is contain high amount of arsenic:

      www msn com/en-ca/foodanddrink/foodnews/finally-the-fda-admits-that-nearly-over-70percent-of-us-chickens-contain-cancer-causing-arsenic/ar-AA8cWca

Fruit and vegetable contains pesticides..so unless you grow them yourself (or even buy organically), you are eating sht.

Athletes take multivitamins (not even about usana) so does body builders. I'm sure they know more about health and nutrition than you do as I spoke to one who consumes a bunch of vitamins in addition to 5 oranges (yes, 5) in one day because he say food ALONE will not do to get enough vitamin in him. In fact he eats a wide variety which most people cannot do because they are so busy with work. So he said that everyone at a certain age will be not have sufficient amount of vitamins per day..UNLESS they eat like him at his minimum, which will stuff people up. He spend $30k per year (yes 30k) on food alone on himself as he is a pro bodybuilder.

So you are wrong. face it. admit it, because you ain't gonna eat like 1 orange, 1 apple, 1 banana, n amount of chicken, meat, a lot of fish and vegetables EVERY F-KING DAY to get enough nutrition in you. Even kids have to use optigrow or something which has heavy nutrition content in addition to food for them to grow very healthy. And what is optigrow? Full of vitamins! So normal people CANNOT do it on food alone especially when they ahve work and kids and events to balance. Get real.
