Have you ever wondered why every single USANA associate has a
story to tell about how USANA has effected their life?
According to USANA's training material for their associates
“GETTING STARTED”, USANA distributors are instructed to “Use
USANA products - develop your own personal product story you can
share with others”. As if it wasn't important enough, USANA makes
the statement a second time: “Become a product of the product.
Create your own personal story about how these products have
benefited you and your family”.
And your point is...........
ReplyDeleteUSANA is encouraging their distributors to make up stories in order to sell vitamins. Do you know how many times I hear from USANA distributors that their products cured their illness? USANA distributors will say whatever they need to n order to get people to join.
DeleteBut see there is your bias. You ASSUME... note the 3 letter in front if you do that.
DeleteThe fact you you assume that they are making up stories.
How do you know that? Maybe they aren't. Maybe it did help their body get better. Their weight loss product has results. So how are they telling a story that is fake. It is the truth.
It is almost like saying I saw the movie 'Titanic', and then people are telling people how good the movie is because of how their girlfriend cried and next seat next to them were also memorized. To others, they say 'really'.. not sure whether to believe them. But the fact is that THEY DID TELL THE TRUTH and NOT MAKING UP STUFF. So from your 'brilliant' logic, you are saying the movie 'Titanic' is fake and is a scam and should NEVER be produced. Doesn't matter if those people are making money from it. That was pure network marketing at it's fundamental level. The fact is everyone has to pay to see the 'Titanic'. So the movie is a scam right. duh.
The matter of the fact that you are saying they are making up stories should not only apply to this company but MANY other companies out there. This is nothing new. In fact, all MLM and ALL SALES ORGANIZATION (selling copiers, beauty products, etc) tells stories, so like the commenter in number 1 said.. Your point is ????
Like I said, it is exposing you right there that you are really bias and should take your post with a grain of salt.
On the other hand, if you are able to post legal stuff that is against usana, which are facts.. that is a good case. Otherwise, this post is fluff.
Every USANA associate has a "story" about how amazing USANA products are. When you speak to them in person, they almost always break the law by claiming the products cured a specific disease or illness. I've been to one of Ladd McNamara's events and listened to dozens of associates give testimonials of how the products cured their cancer or heart disease.
DeleteIf all these "stories" were actually true, then 80% of USANA associates wouldn't drop out every year.
My favorite are those who left USANA to join Ariix. Comparing their USANA story to their Ariix Story confirms my point about writing whatever it takes to sell something. Snake Oil Salesmen.
You wrote "This is nothing new. In fact, all MLM and ALL SALES ORGANIZATION (selling copiers, beauty products, etc) tells stories"
Someone selling Copiers won't be making up a personal story about what a copier has done for their family. People aren't telling lies about how beauty products cured their illness.
You wrote "Like I said, it is exposing you right there that you are really bias and should take your post with a grain of salt."
OF COURSE I am bias against USANA. I am against scams and believe USANA is one of the worst.
kinda disapointed...Why don't you share your input on Vemma, a local competitor of usana, and how their company shut their operations down. Vemma and Usana are related because they are part of the DSA
ReplyDeleteI have been putting together some information regarding USANA and Vemma and will publish it when it is complete. I don't have much time to work on it though.
DeleteIt is normal to use the product as a distributor since you should at least have a personal opinion about it ,why would you sell a product that you haven't tried. I'm a healthy person and play sports, so I asked myself why should I take USANA.I tried at least 1 week worth since my friend insisted. Oh boy my sleep was good and my favorite was I lost my bruxism(teeth grinding) in 2 weeks (I got another 1 week btw because I feel more relaxed when sleeping.
ReplyDeleteI also have friends that provides his family USANA products even though they failed in the business or friends that dont want to join(basically a user). Their testimonies are one, "it is a good product and I still use it."
Apparently this usanawatchdog haven't tried using it properly and just saying cr-p because it's mlm.
DeleteThat is almost the same as saying all african americans are criminals or all chinese people eat cats. It's call stereotyping. People who stereotype are not very open minded. I guess that applies to watchdoggie.
Now USANA products apparently cure sleep deprivation and bruxism? great... Problem is, USANA distributors are not allowed to make these kinds of testimonials. Yet, they do anyway. It is illegal for the sales person to make such claims because there is no evidence of it, just a story. That's what USANA relies on...
DeleteUSANA tells their associates to make up a story about the products benefiting them or their family. So unless it is a benefit, don't mention it... Don't mention that a sudden increase in antioxidants through megadosing will likely cause severe diarrhea and abdominal pains.
As for stereotyping: No, it is more like saying all snake-oil salesmen are liars.
I'm not into medical field, but bruxism is caused by stress and maybe feel relaxed thats why I dont grind my teeth anymore (I dont use the rubber that my dentist gave to me anymore). As for claims, Usana Essentials doesn't have "No Approve Therapeutic Claims". Iam also happy that my parents lab results became normal, they don't like it at first but I suggested them to use it. now I'm buying 2 essentials every 3 months because I was so happy that my parents health improved. Never gonna try a different vitamins. As for you USANA Watch Dog I guess its your opinion and I respect it. Just want to tell you my testimonies.Oh you can also check the contents on essentials and let some USANA Distributors present you products so at least you have full knowledge while blogging about USANA. Even though you wont buy at least you learn something about cellular health which really consists almost all of our body. Cheers man!
DeleteI Googled and found your blog when a friend shared with me about USANA. I was skeptical. My mom has asthma and food allergy. She had asthma attacks that ended up in the doctor's office 3-4 times per month. She also went for acupuncture several times a month hoping for some relief. She has also developed allergic to several food as she aged. I bought her the Essential, Proflavanol and probiotic, she hasn't had one single asthma attack since May 2015, when she started taking the above supplements. I couldn't tell you how and why it works, but I have also started taking them too hoping for some relief for my allergy problem, and it will tell when spring rolls around.
DeleteIn response to "My mom has asthma and food allergy. She had asthma attacks that ended up in the doctor's office 3-4 times per month. DeleteNow USANA products prevent asthma attacks.
Don't put words in my mouth. I never said it prevents or cures my mom's asthma. Why don't you research why people have asthma in the first place? BTW, my mom had one mild asthma attack two weeks ago, after a very tiring 20+ hours flight and two weeks of traveling to a foreign country. She is doing really well compare to before taking USANA products, she would not dare to take a 20+ hours flight in the past.
DeleteLeah, You wrote "I bought her the Essential, Proflavanol and probiotic, she hasn't had one single asthma attack since May 2015, when she started taking the above supplements."
DeleteIt is very obvious you are trying to imply that the USANA products had something to do with preventing the asthma attacks.
No, I said "I couldn't tell you how and why it works". I was simply stated the fact that my mom hasn't had an asthma attack since she started the supplements I bought her. And the fact that I couldn't tell what it's effective for me or not because spring is when my allergy flares up.
DeleteLeah,
DeleteAnd then you followed that up with "s, but I have also started taking them too hoping for some relief for my allergy problem, and it will tell when spring rolls around."
You implied the USANA Essentials, Proflavanol, and Probiotic prevented her Asthma attack.
Heck, you even wrote "She is doing really well compare to before taking USANA products, she would not dare to take a 20+ hours flight in the past. "
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
A healthy dose of skeptism is good for us. Like I said, I was skeptic and that's how I found your blog by googling. However, I think you are being maliciously vicious with a closed mind.
DeleteBTW, sharing a personal experience with the product is not against FDA rules. I didn't claim it diagnoses, cures, prevents. Even my mom's physician told her whatever she is doing, keep doing it so that she doesn't need to use the steroid inhaler he prescribed. Yes, that's all her doc could do for her, steroid for relief when she had attacks, nothing to prevent, cure or diagnose. :-)
Look, you can make any statement you like about the products as long as you are not selling it. You can tell everyone it cures every illness on the planet, so long as you are not selling it.
DeleteI have bought for my mom, MIL and my family. Nope, I am not selling the products, I don't have time for a second job. I have hooked people up with my friend who is a distributor. Recently my husband's uncle called, asking where and how he could purchase because he heard from his buddy at the breakfast group and my MIL who is using the products. He has been taking Glucosamine from the drug store for at least 20 years (he is 82), which didn't make much difference and he figured he could lose nothing to try a product that his buddy raved about. He has very positive experience and started an auto order to get it monthly.
DeleteMaybe you are too young to suffer from any degenerative diseases, people don't get degenerative diseases overnight, and no medicine or supplement is going to cure overnight. My friend who is a distributor made that clear from the beginning. As for my mom. she would never dream of curing her asthma, I think she is pretty happy with less frequent and milder attacks! And we are crossing our fingers and toes for that!
A healthy dose of skeptism is good for us. Like I said, I was skeptic and that's how I found your blog by googling. However, I think you are being maliciously vicious with a closed mind.
DeleteWow am I not surprised. Watchdoggie is even more closed minded than any distributor or any neutral mlm people that I know. It's like being an atheist is worse than being an agnostic because one is refusal someone exist with A CLOSED MIND, while the other is just don't konw if it exist. Why? he/she NEVER really tried the product but just saying sht.
Leah, stop wasting your time. You cannot convince watchdog even if it is the last thing on earth that can save this watchdog's life. It's because it's MLM model that why she hates it. If usana was not MLM, she has no comment on it. Again that is closed minded.
No good stories about usana even if they are real will make them believe you regardless if you are selling to them or not. But yet, they want you to believe the their negative story of usana and how bad they are is true. Now, I just won this case because that is a simple sign of hyprocrisy by usanawatchdoggie.
Usanawatch, you think you are open minded, But you are actually the most closed minded person ever. Whatever you post here are false or just stories, which I can also claim is false.. I can also manipulate data too.
USANA tells their associates to make up a story about the products benefiting them or their family. So unless it is a benefit, don't mention it... Don't mention that a sudden increase in antioxidants through megadosing will likely cause severe diarrhea and abdominal pains.
ReplyDeleteSee that is where you are mostly wrong and already confirm the fact that you NEVER gave the vitamin a chance.
You can't 'overdose' on vitamins.. the worst it does it excreted out.. you can overdose drugs and overdose vitamins that has bad ingredients,
As for diarherra and adominal pain.. the diarherra probably occurred early when you take it because there is so much toxin and sh-t in your body that it's detoxing. After 1 or 2 months of it, it will slowly go away and you will feel better. How do I know.. My in-law and my wife's aunt had the same experience.. in fact my wife's aunt even had headaches when she FIRST took it as she has so much problem with her health in general. After 1 or 2 months, she didn't give up and after that it's smooth sailing and she felt better than before. My inlaw stopped taking it after 1 weeks because she is cheap as she only shopps in 99 cents store and care about money over anything else. She say it's too expensive and also she kept pooping so she gave up...EVEN after we paid for hers.
Also the fact that you have to be knowledgable to take it. My wife's boss took it in hope to lose weight.. When she first took it, her fingers expanded and gained like 2 pounds. She called my wife who called my upline who studied nutrition day and night and told her she need to drink n amount water in addition to something else. After that, again it was smooth sailing. What do you think her boss will do if it didn't make her lose weigh and become healthy. My wife's job and reputation will be ON THE LINE UNLIKE YOURS WHERE YOU HAVE NO RISK OTHER THAN SAYING SH-T. She now orders it regularly in couple months intervals of couple hundred bucks.
Like I said, these are true stories but you are too bias and close-minded to see it. If you say these are make up, I can also say the fact that your friend who lost 10k in this business over 7 years is also a fake story to try to take down usana. In fact, all your stories and statements here a c.r.a.p because you made them up. Your argument goes both ways.. so you lose. Thank you. case close. I win.
In response to "You can't 'overdose' on vitamins.. the worst it does it excreted out.. you can overdose drugs and overdose vitamins that has bad ingredients"
DeleteYour advise will kill people and people like you have no business selling vitamins.
Multiple Vitamin Overdose - US National Library of Medicine
Getting Too Much of Vitamins and Minerals - WebMD
Vitamin Overdose: Taking Too Many Vitamins Can Be Bad For Your Health, But How Many Would It Take To Kill You? - Medical Daily
In response to "As for diarherra and adominal pain.. the diarherra probably occurred early when you take it because there is so much toxin and sh-t in your body that it's detoxing."
According to the WebMD, there is little evidence supporting the idea of detoxification.
Detoxification - WebMD
USANA's Essentials recommended daily dosage contains 1300 mg of Vitamin C. According to WebMD, daily amounts over 1000 mg may cause diarherra. Perhaps USANA simply wants their customers getting diarherra.
Wow - somebody that doesn't know the basic regarding supplementation. Yes, you can overdose on vitamins. Nobody has any business taking fat soluble vitamins unless their MD diagnosis them with a deficiency. And some of them have known interactions with medications. If somebody is not a medical professional, they should not be giving advise on supplements...
DeleteWell, USANA works great for me and have helped my family and friends all over the world as well in terms of their health.
ReplyDeleteDon't know what you're on about. Have you try it yourself? If you haven't, then you wouldn't understand how the products have helped to make you feel more alert and energized.
AnonymousOctober 19, 2015 at 5:04 PM
DeleteHave you searched placebo effect? Go check it yourself. Btw, I have tried Essentials 3 years ago and there's nothing special in it compared to Centrum and other Multivitamins I have tried before except it is overpriced.
come tell me after you take 10 years of constant centrum every day.
DeleteIt is the worst vitamin ever.
You post this shows you don't know jack about vitamins..
check out multivitaminsguide.org.. centrum is at the bottom of totempole.
I don't see you go and say sh0t about the hottest new thing.. R+F Rodan and Fields.
ReplyDeleteThe fact is the product works.. its the distribution system that you are against, but it's still legal. get a grippopippo
The products work to do what? Supplement someone's dietary deficiencies? Every vitamin manufacturer is capable of doing that. What magical potion has USANA conjured up that makes people like you state "fact is the product works"?
DeleteAs for the distribution system - pyramid schemes are not legal. MLMs like USANA and Vemma do everything they can to mask the scam by claiming it's all about the product. However, there is almost no retail market for USANA products beyond the distributors themselves because the product is overpriced. Every ex-preferred customer I have contacted stated the products are too expensive and is why they stopped purchasing the product... 45% of the price of the product goes to enrich the very top of the pyramid scheme. The remaining 99% of distributors make no profit. This is a pyramid scheme.
BTW, the FTC is in the process of shutting Vemma down for good for operating a pyramid scheme. Their business model is pretty much identical to USANA.... Good Luck!!!
Good luck to you.. it will be another 20 years before that happens when I don't even know if thsi blog exist.
DeleteFormulation? Bioavailability?
DeleteI signed up for Usana 12 years ago or so. No longer try to sell it, but I really did have an amazing response to the vitamins, as did my 3 year old son at the time. They do have amazing products, but they are overpriced. I now use similar products that can be purchased without going through a pyramid. If you don't think vitamins can cure anything, then just go ahead and eat crap everyday and see what happens eventually. Poor nutrition causes...good nutrition cures... If you don't get that, you shouldn't even be speaking about this at all.
ReplyDeleteSo what is the similar product but not a 'pyramid'.
DeleteName it to prove it.
Looking at the contents fo the products of USANA, it seems like you can also get it in other brands. for Essentials esp. there are 13 vitamins, 13 minerls and 20 Phyto nutrients available in each pair. where in, going to other brands will require me to get the same content from 6-15 tablets of their Supplements...
